From Enlistment to Encore: BTS Reunites as Full Group
The global phenomenon BTS is officially ushering in a new era as all its members have now completed their mandatory military service. The long-awaited full reunion of the septet is finally within reach, with the final member, Suga, set to return next week. This exciting development comes on the heels of a surprising and emotional reunion at J-Hope’s “Hope On The Stage” final concert, providing a glimpse of the group’s highly anticipated comeback.
The past few days have been a flurry of activity and anticipation for ARMYs worldwide. Members RM and V were honorably discharged on June 10, followed swiftly by Jimin and Jungkook on June 11. These recent discharges mark the completion of military duties for six of the seven members, as Jin was discharged in June 2024 and J-Hope in October 2024.
The focus now shifts to Suga, who has been serving as a public service worker due to health reasons. His discharge is officially scheduled for June 21, completing the military service of all seven members. This means that by next week, the iconic group will officially be reunited after a hiatus that began in 2022.
Adding to the exhilaration, the “Hope On The Stage” finale on June 13 in Goyang, Gyeonggi Province, became an unexpected and heartwarming reunion for BTS. While J-Hope captivated the audience with his solo performance, the biggest surprise came with the appearance of all seven members. Jungkook joined J-Hope on stage for a special performance of “Seven,” sending the stadium into a frenzy.
Moreover, RM, V, Jin, and Jimin were spotted in the audience, cheering on their bandmate. Most notably, Suga, who is still technically serving, also attended the concert, happily waving to fans from the VIP section. This impromptu gathering, even before Suga’s official discharge, ignited immense joy and emotion among fans who had waited over two years to see them together. Social media was flooded with clips and photos of the members laughing, dancing, and interacting, with hashtags like ‘#FamilyIsBack’ trending globally.
While a full group comeback with new music and large-scale concerts will likely take some time for preparation and production, the “Hope On The Stage” reunion serves as a powerful testament to their unbreakable bond and a promising preview of what’s to come. HYBE, their management agency, has reportedly hinted at a new album potentially by the end of this year or early next year. They also celebrated the members’ return by lighting up their headquarters with the message “WE ARE BACK.”
As Suga’s discharge approaches next week, the excitement for BTS’s complete reunion and their future activities continues to build. The industry and fans alike are eagerly awaiting the moment when all seven members of BTS will once again grace the stage together, ready to write the next chapter of their legendary journey.
