Taking place from October 4-6, 2024, at Gambir Expo, Kemayoran, Jakarta, this festival is not just a platform for the country’s top musicians but also a celebration of musical diversity across different decades. With over 100 curated performances, Synchronize Fest promises an unparalleled musical experience for tens of thousands of attendees.

Honoring Legends

One of the most remarkable moments at Synchronize Festival 2024 was the tribute to Nike Ardilla, a pop icon from the 1990s whose legacy continues to inspire many. Using advanced technology, the festival recreated Nike’s presence on stage, thrilling the crowd with performances of her timeless hits, such as Sandiwara Cinta and Bintang Kehidupan. The emotional performance featured prominent Indonesian singers like Danilla, Tantri, and Bonita, who helped breathe life into Nike’s iconic songs. This unique homage underscored the enduring power of her music, resonating with both longtime fans and new audiences alike.

Adding to the celebration of musical legends was a tribute to the multi-talented Benyamin Sueb, an actor, comedian, and musician beloved for his contributions to Betawi culture. Artists like Iwa K and David Bayu paid tribute by performing some of Benyamin’s greatest hits, infusing the festival with a nostalgic and cultural touch. The tribute served as a reminder of Benyamin’s lasting influence on Indonesian entertainment, making the festival not just a celebration of music, but also of the country’s cultural heritage.

A Diverse Lineup

Synchronize Festival 2024 was more than just a walk down memory lane; it also showcased the diversity and dynamism of Indonesia’s current music scene. From rock, pop, jazz, and hip-hop, the festival truly had something for everyone. One of the standout performances was by pop sensation Rossa, who took the audience by surprise with a fun and nostalgic set that included the soundtracks from popular cartoons Doraemon and Shinchan. Her performance added a playful twist to the festival, resonating with fans who grew up watching these shows.

Another unexpected highlight came from Haddad Alwi and Sulis, who brought a spiritual and reflective dimension to the event. They performed religious songs such as Ya Thoybah and Ummi, and the crowd enthusiastically joined in by singing together. This set provided a moment of peace and introspection amidst the high-energy performances of other artists, showcasing the festival’s ability to cater to a wide array of emotions and experiences.

Orchestral Magic

The Synchronize Festival also paid homage to one of the most celebrated albums in Indonesian music history, Badai Pasti Berlalu. Originally composed by Eros Djarot, the album was reimagined for the festival with orchestral renditions by the Erwin Gutawa Orchestra. Featuring artists such as Isyana Sarasvati, Afgan, and Fariz RM, the performance of timeless tracks like Cintaku and Merpati Putih left the audience in awe. The orchestral arrangements, combined with modern vocal interpretations, created a rich, immersive musical experience that balanced tradition with innovation.
