F4’s Triumphant Return Ignites Meteor Garden Nostalgia
After more than a decade away from the stage, Taiwanese boyband F4 made a surprise comeback at Mayday’s concert in Taipei, performing “Meteor Rain” live and instantly reviving memories of Meteor Garden for fans across Asia. The performance has sparked hopes that a full reunion might soon follow.
A Night to Remember
On July 12, 2025, the Taipei Dome erupted with cheers when Mayday invited Jerry Yan, Vanness Wu, Ken Zhu, and Vic Zhou to share the stage. Known globally as F4, they performed their signature hit Meteor Rain backed by Mayday’s live band. Within minutes, clips of their performance spread across social media, bringing fans back to the era of Meteor Garden.
The Meteor Garden Legacy
F4’s journey began in 2001 with Meteor Garden, the hit TV drama based on Boys Over Flowers. Their roles as the Flower Four turned them into household names and launched them to regional stardom. Sony Music Taiwan signed them as an official boyband, leading to the release of three studio albums and the Fantasy Live World Tour across Asia. Meteor Rain remains their most iconic song, while other favorites like Can’t Lose You and Seasons of Fireworks continue to resonate with listeners.
Still Captivating After All These Years
Appearing together after a 12-year hiatus, the members of F4 looked as charismatic as ever, each embracing his distinct style on stage. Jerry Yan wore a white V-neck and gold chain under a sleek blazer, Vic Zhou paired a low U-neck with a long tie, Vanness Wu layered chains over a casual T-shirt, while Ken Zhu opted for a double-breasted jacket over a black shirt.
Hopes for a Full Reunion
Fans are eager to see what comes next. While there is no official announcement, insider reports suggest discussions are underway for a potential 25th-anniversary celebration in 2026, with hopes of an Asia-wide concert tour. Vic Zhou has stated he will only participate if the project prioritizes artistic integrity over profit, reflecting the group’s desire for a meaningful comeback rather than a nostalgic cash grab. For now, the stage remains open, and the world is ready to welcome F4 whenever they choose to return.
